Maintenance for AI-Generated Websites

AI Website Maintenance

Your site was generated in an afternoon. Keeping it secure, updated and online is the part the generator does not do. We maintain the code AI builders produce — the same way we maintain any other custom site.

  • Dependency and framework updates, tested before they go live
  • Backups and monitoring the generator never set up for you
  • Build failures and broken deploys fixed by real engineers

Not sure your site qualifies? Ask at the consultation and we will tell you up front.

What Is an AI Website?

An AI website is one whose code, layout and copy were generated largely by an AI tool from a prompt or a short brief, rather than hand-built by a developer or assembled page by page in a traditional builder. The market’s own shorthand for working this way is “vibe coding” — describing what you want and letting the model produce it.

The label covers two very different things, and the difference decides what maintenance is even possible. AI code builders hand you a real codebase — React, Next.js or plain static files — that you own, host and can change. Hosted AI builders generate a site that stays on the vendor’s platform, where you own the content but not the stack. Before anything else, that is the question worth answering about your own site.

What Is AI Website Maintenance?

AI website maintenance is the ongoing work of keeping a site built by an AI generator secure, current and running: dependency and framework updates, backups, security and uptime monitoring, performance care, and fixing the build when it stops working. The generator writes the first version. It does not maintain it, and from the moment it finishes, the code starts ageing like any other codebase.

Which AI Website Builders We Maintain

We work from the code your builder produced, not from a partnership with the tool. What matters is what it output and whether you can hand it over.

AI Code Builders

Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit, Base44 and Firebase Studio generate real React, Next.js or Vite codebases with real dependency trees. These are the most maintainable and the most likely to need it.

AI WordPress Builders

10Web and similar tools output standard WordPress. That sits directly in the stack we already maintain every month — core, themes, plugins and all.

Hosted AI Builders

Wix, Squarespace, Framer, Durable and GoDaddy Airo keep the code on their own platform. We can help with content, SEO and deliverability, but the platform owns the stack, so maintenance scope is narrower. We will say so before you buy.

Built with something not listed? Ask — the question is what the tool exported, not its name.

What Goes Wrong With AI-Generated Websites

These sites do not usually fail on launch day. They fail three to nine months later, and almost always for the same handful of reasons.

Dependencies age out

The packages your site was generated against keep moving. Security advisories accumulate against versions you are still running, and nothing tells you.

The build stops working

A deploy that succeeded in March fails in September on an unchanged codebase, because something upstream changed. Without someone who reads build logs, the site simply stops updating.

No backups exist

Generators create sites. They rarely create a restore path. Plenty of AI-built sites have no backup at all until the day one is needed.

Secrets end up in the code

API keys and tokens are easy to leave in a generated codebase, and easy to publish to a repository without noticing.

Nobody is watching

No uptime checks, no error alerts, no security scanning. The first report of an outage is a customer, or nobody at all.

The original builder is gone

The person who prompted the site into existence has moved on, and the next person cannot tell which parts are load-bearing.

What AI Website Maintenance Includes

The same monthly discipline as the rest of our maintenance work, applied to a generated codebase.

Dependency & Framework Updates

Packages, frameworks and build tooling updated on a monthly rhythm and tested before they reach the live site.

Backups & Restore Path

Automated backups stored off-server, with a restore that has actually been thought through before you need it.

Security Monitoring

Scanning, patching and rapid response to security alerts against the packages you are genuinely running.

Uptime Monitoring

Round-the-clock checks so if the site goes down we know before you do and can start work.

Build & Deploy Fixes

When the pipeline breaks, we read the logs and fix it, rather than leaving the site frozen on its last good deploy.

Monthly Reporting

What changed, what was updated, what we found and what we recommend next — in writing, every month.

What We Need From You

Short list, and we can help with all of it at the consultation.

The code

Normally a Git repository. If the site still only exists inside the builder, we will help you export it first.

The hosting

Access to wherever the site is deployed. You keep ownership of every account throughout — see our Trust & Security page.

The domain and DNS

So we can check the site is actually reachable, and keep it that way. Moving host? That is a website migration, quoted separately.

AI Website Maintenance Plans & Pricing

AI-generated sites run on the same maintenance plans as everything else, from $99 per month. What moves the number is the size and complexity of the codebase, not the tool that made it.

AI Website Maintenance FAQs

What owners of AI-generated sites ask before a maintenance plan starts.

What is AI website maintenance?

AI website maintenance is the ongoing work of keeping a site that was generated by an AI builder secure, updated and running. The generator produces the first version; it does not patch dependencies, take backups, watch uptime or fix the build six months later. That ongoing work is maintenance, and it is the same discipline any custom site needs.

Which AI builders do you support?

We work from the code, not the tool. Sites from Lovable, Bolt, v0, Replit, Base44 and Firebase Studio typically output React or Next.js, and 10Web outputs standard WordPress — all of which we maintain. Hosted builders such as Wix, Squarespace, Framer, Durable and GoDaddy Airo keep the code on their own platform, so what we can do there is more limited. Ask at the consultation and we will tell you up front.

Do you need access to the AI tool I built it with?

Usually not. What we need is the code and the hosting — normally a Git repository and access to wherever the site is deployed. If the site still only exists inside the builder, we will help you export it first.

My AI-generated site still works. Why does it need maintenance?

Because the risk is not visible yet. Dependencies age, security advisories accumulate against packages you are already running, and a build that succeeded in March can fail in September on an unchanged codebase. Maintenance is what keeps the gap between working and broken from opening quietly.

Can you fix a build that is already broken?

Yes. A broken build or a failed deploy is normal first contact for these sites. We diagnose it as scoped work, tell you what it will take before we start, and you can move onto a maintenance plan afterwards if you want the problem to stay fixed.

Will you rebuild the site or maintain what is there?

We would rather maintain what you have. If the codebase genuinely cannot be maintained safely we will say so and explain why, rather than quietly billing maintenance against something that needs replacing.

Is AI website maintenance priced differently?

No. It runs on the same maintenance plans as any other site, from $99 per month. What changes the number is the size and complexity of the codebase, not the tool that generated it.
